  • Location: Larimer County, CO
  • Status: Full-time, 40/hrs. week 

What You’ll Do:

Responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. Prepares various month end closing journal entries. Reconciles accounts and research anomalies. Assists with various statutory filings and grant billings. Assists with audit preparations and produces work papers for auditors. Works with cross functional teams to improve processes.

Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Transaction Recording: Prepares and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information and/or large data sets.
  • Grant and Fund Accounting: Maintain compliance with grant requirements and restrictions, including tracking restricted funds, reporting, and allocation of expenses. Prepare and issue invoices to granting agencies.
  • Period-End Close: Assist the Controller with aspects of month/quarter/year-end closing process, ensuring transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • General Ledger Management: Reconcile and review general ledger accounts, including assets, liabilities, intercompany allocations, revenues and expenses.
  • Reconciliations & Research: Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations. Follow up on month-end reconciling items to be completed prior to the next months close.
  • Internal Controls: Assist with developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Coordination & Support: Coordinate with accounts payable and revenue cycle management, ensuring timely and accurate recording and reconciliation. Review and ensure accuracy of payroll processing and related reporting, collaborating with others as needed.  Serve as a backup to payroll and accounts payable, as necessary.
  • Audit Support: Prepares working papers for the following audits: financial, workers compensation, unit cost, federal awards, grants, joint operating agreements, and capacity contracts.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Collaborate with department leaders across the organization to understand operational informational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area from an accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting and/or full charge bookkeeping. 
  • Knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting and related concepts, healthcare reimbursement methodologies and regulatory compliance in the healthcare industry. 

Preferred:

  • Audit experience highly preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred.

Total Rewards

The typical hiring range for this position is $68,182 to $81,817 annually, based on relevant years of experience.
