Your Mission
As Climate Policy Analyst, you will be instrumental in supporting the development, implementation, and management of climate action and sustainability initiatives. You will oversee and contribute to various projects within the City's sustainability and climate action projects through outreach, project design and support, planning, research, data collection, and reporting. Key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing and tracking progress of projects and programs in place to help meet Eugene's climate goals.
- Analyzing data to inform policy decisions and update strategies.
- Engaging with diverse community members to raise awareness and foster participation in climate initiatives.
- Collaborating with community partners and stakeholders to ensure effective execution of our climate policies.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a solid understanding of sustainability and climate science and policy
- Can effectively communicate complex information to various audiences
- Is committed to promoting equity and inclusion in environmental initiatives
- Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to changing priorities
- Has experience building relationships and fostering community engagement
Salary Range: $40.93 - $53.20 / hourly; $85,134.40 - $110,656.00 / annually
Education:
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Energy Management, Sustainable Systems, Public/Business Administration or a closely related field
Experience:
Two (2) years of work experience in sustainability, resources conservation, climate mitigation and resilience or energy efficiency. Experience identifying and securing grants. Experience working with or for a local government is desirable.
