Description
We are seeking a driven, energetic, results-oriented Scientist to join the In Vivo Sciences group of the Immunology and Respiratory Research Therapeutic Area in Ridgefield CT. This individual will be required to plan and perform in vivo and ex vivo studies to advance our innovative and novel research programs, aimed at improving the lives of patients suffering from inflammatory diseases. This position requires hands-on experience, strong rodent in vivo technical skills, a passion for learning combined with a sense of creativity, attentional to detail, teamwork as well as strong communication and organizational skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Initiates and completes routine and non-routine experiments in an independent and efficient manner, with minimal supervision
- Ability to design experiments as well as analyze, interpret outcome of experiments and propose appropriate follow-up
- Ability to troubleshoot, perform literature searches and extract relevant information from published protocols
- Communicates own work orally and in writing and provides input for scientific reports
- Complies with applicable regulations, performing all work in a safe manner and maintains proper records in accordance with SOPs and policies
Requirements
- Experience in animal handling, routine routes of injection (i.v., i.p., s.c., i.m., p.o and i.t.), health monitoring, sample collection and tissue harvest.
- Experience using a variety of standard laboratory techniques such as mammalian cell tissue culture, ELISA, cell/tissue processing methods, RT-qPCR, multi-colored flow cytometry (>4-color flow staining) and /or western blots
- Experience with immunology in vivo models
- Ability to learn new technology and concepts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with FlowJo and GraphPrism softwares
- Knowledge in programming language (R, Python, etc..)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Scientist II:
- Bachelors Degree with 3+ years experience in related scientific discipline or Masters Degree in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
Scientist III:
- Masters Degree with 3+ years experience in related scientific discipline or Bachelors Degree with 7+ years experience in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field
Compensation:
This position, Scientist II, offers a base salary typically between$75,000.00 and $147,000.00. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.For an overview of our benefits please click here.Eligibility Requirements:
