Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Our Oncology Data Services Department consists of Cancer Registrars with various educational backgrounds ranging from Associate Degrees in healthcare related fields to Bachelor Degrees in Chemistry as well as Master Degrees in Public Health. All Cancer Registrars are required to sit for the certification exam administered by the National Cancer Registrar Association and attain their CTR credentials. It is the role of the Oncology Data Services Department to review all patients that are treated and/or diagnosed with a malignancy at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Siteman Cancer Center to determine their eligibility for inclusion into the Cancer Registry database as well as their reportability to the Missouri Cancer Registry.
