Apex Systems is Hiring for a Customer Service Agent!The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) is a diverse state agency that impacts citizens and travelers daily. KYTC services span all 120 counties and 12 highway district offices, covering highways, roads, bridges, vehicle licensing, driver licensing, and highway safety. Division of Driver Licensing (DDL)
- The DDL within KYTC is responsible for issuing driver’s licenses, maintaining driver records, and managing driver safety programs. It works closely with other state agencies, states, and federal government agencies. With the Department of Homeland Securitys enactment of federal rules for “Real ID” issuance and record keeping, KYTC must issue federally compliant driver licenses by October 2021.
- DDL seeks exceptional individuals to join as Customer Service Agents to meet increased demand. The rollout of a new digitized license computer system across the state requires travel to issuance locations statewide. Opportunities for advancement within DDL exist. Agents will be assigned a mobile unit and travel to various locations, including manufacturing centers, libraries, prisons, and other local areas needing Driver’s License services. Personal vehicles are not required.

- Technical Skills: Learn and utilize the KY Drivers License Information System (KDLIS)/IDEMIA issuance program, read and interpret driver’s history records.
- Knowledge: Become knowledgeable of Driver Licensing laws and policies, including Commercial Driver Licensing laws and processes.
- Advisory Role: Advise applicants on driver licensing questions and concerns.
- Overtime: Willingness to work overtime, up to 10 hours per week.
- Flexible Hours: Availability for evening or Saturday hours occasionally.
- IT Collaboration: Work closely with IT staff on performance, goals, and conflict resolutions.
- Troubleshooting: Provide IT and software troubleshooting support to Central and Regional Offices.
- System Improvements: Recommend process/system improvements to management.
- Website Management: Responsible for division website content.
- Facial Recognition: Assist with facial recognition database in back office, attend monthly tech meetings with REAL ID/Idemia.
- Correspondence: Distribute division correspondence to all employees.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree; administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience: At least 2 years of computer technology experience
