Full Job Description

Join us as a US Rates Strat - VP. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will execute initiatives that enhance the pricing, hedging, and modelling capabilities of the business. You will lead the development and automation of pricing tools and macro strategies within the Rates Business, and be responsible for new product delivery, portfolio analytics, and financial engineering. Key responsibilities include marking pricing, creating analytics for flow interference, developing Python-based trading tools, and ensuring trade booking and reconciliation compliance. As a Strats SME, you will also contribute to IT initiatives and process improvements.

To be successful as a US Rates Strat - VP, you should have:

  • Python coding experience within the financial services industry and strong object-oriented language, C++, Java
  • Oversee the enhancement of systems and tools used by the trading desk
  • Master’s degree in computer science/engineering/math as well as FINRA Series 7 and 63

  • Leverage programming expertise and advanced mathematical, statistical, and stochastic modelling techniques to develop innovative solutions
  • Make high-level decisions to optimize the financial engineering framework and trading strategies
  • Manage complex financial data analysis to ensure accuracy and efficiency in trading models

This role is located in our New York, New York office.

This role is FINRA regulated.

Minimum Salary: $155,000

Maximum Salary: $250,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
  • Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
  • In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
  • Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
  • Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.
