Bunge is seeking a State Tax Manager to join our team in Chesterfield, MO.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the timely reporting, quality, and consistency of Bunge North America's state and local income and indirect taxes. Work involves management of compliance, reporting, planning, and controversy concerning SALT in the United States. It involves managing of multiple projects and initiatives at once, building support and networking inside and outside Bunge, and mentoring of staff and supervision of outside service providers such as accounting firms. It also involves promoting the role of SALT in decision making at Bunge through building partnerships with various partners and upholding organizational and professional ethical standards while working independently under general direction with extensive latitude for initiative.

Core Functions:

Assist in preparation of various compliance workpapers.
Review income and franchise tax returns and other state and local tax returns.
Review of all state and local indirect tax returns.
Research and consult on various state and local tax matters.
Utilize tax-related software to prepare, review and process returns.
Respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
Review of documentation and related SALT workpapers for accuracy.
General responsibility for supervising SALT engagements.
Maintain a good working relationship with management and staff at all levels to gather information and provide tax services.
Work closely with business partners to promptly resolve tax issues.
Gain understanding of operations, processes, and business objectives, and apply that knowledge to support regional business activities.
Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and governmental regulations.
The candidate will use their expertise in accounting and state and local tax compliance to meet the tax requirements of Bunge and support regional business needs.
Minor travel will be required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience of at least 5 years in state tax planning and compliance.
Strong knowledge of state tax laws and regulations.
CPA certification is highly preferred.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong ability to effectively communicate and connect with others.
Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
