  • What will I do in this position if hired? This position is located in the Travel Services Section in the FEMA Finance Center, Financial Management Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. In this position, you will direct and manage financial services performed by a functional work group in the Travel Services Unit. Typical assignments include: Serving as the Unit Chief for the FEMA Travel Administration Unit, as the Electronic Travel System (ETS) manager for FEMA and technical expert of the Agency's travel system. Testing travel system interactions with other Agency applications and systems to meet the needs of end-users. Planning, configuring, operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting various travel issues and conduct or participates in routine audits of the Travel System. Researching, training, and providing guidance on travel system procedures and/or interpretation of standard procedures and regulations in a time frame that is responsive to the needs of travel staff and program managers. Overseeing the travel training team, development of travel training modules, guides, newsletters, SharePoint content maintenance and training manuals. What else do I need to know? Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
