Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Staff Mission Management Capability Responsible Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in defining the future. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected engineer will perform as a member of an interdisciplinary team on a key effort to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. The successful engineer will contribute to the overall development of mission management capability development, including System Architecture/Concept Development, Requirements Development and Derivation, Algorithm Development, Performance Analysis, Data Analysis, and 3rd party solution integration trade studies and work with cross-disciplinary hardware, software, and firmware teams.
The Mission Management Capability Responsible Engineer in this role will be responsible for one or more of the following:
• Support development and integration of one or more mission management functional capabilities as part of the mission systems segment to meet overall platform objectives
• Requirements development, analysis, maturation and implementation translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
• Performing functional and performance analyses
• Models behavior of systems in real-time and constructive simulations of sensors and other platforms.
• Integrate developed capabilities with operational scenarios and representative surrogate hardware
• Test/experiment design to conduct parametric performance analysis
• Test/experiment design using measures of performance assessment tools
• Solicit input from various stakeholders, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of leadership within the organization.
• Perform mission engineering activities to ensure continuity between desired operational capabilities and delivered system performance, through the Systems Engineering "V".
• Ensure performance capabilities of architectures and solutions are traded against cost and mission requirements and assess operational effectiveness of existing and emerging capabilities in representative operational environments.
Basic Qualifications:
Staff Mission Management Capability Responsible Engineer (T05):
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
• Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: EOIR subsystems, EW subsystems, RF/antenna subsystems, digital communications, data processing methods and capabilities.
• Experience in decomposing, deriving, allocating and tracing requirements from system to component level
• Familiarity with lab-based testing and integration of software into representative hardware
• Familiarity with modeling and simulation
• Experience with math/computing tools (MATLAB, etc.)
• Experience in the development of real time embedded software
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
• Experience with data reduction from flight test/ lab integration activities
• Demonstrated mathematical problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
• Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, ID, or adaptive technique
• Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
• Familiarity in Agile and Digital Engineering processes
• Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite

Salary Range: $147,700 - $221,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
