General Purpose & Scope
This role is critical in managing the purchasing, sourcing, and logistics of fertilizer and related inputs for agricultural operations. They aim to ensure that the right types and quantities of fertilizers are procured at the best possible prices, within the necessary timelines, and in compliance with industry regulations.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers while maintaining good relationships.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to forecast and analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
Supply Chain Management: Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, and inventory control in agricultural supply chains.
Knowledge of Fertilizer Types and Applications: Understanding of different fertilizers, including chemical, organic, and specialized types, and their use in various crops.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of the regulations governing fertilizer use and environmental standards in agriculture.
Project Management: Ability to oversee procurement projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines and budgets are met

Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Process Bulk Fertilizer OR requests to Purchase orders
Collaborate with Fertilizer Strategy Lead(s) and Regional Inventory Specialist
Anticipate factors that might influence demand, such as seasonal out of stock and communicate to product decision makers
Recommend changes to optimize the way the company handles inventory
Collaborating with operations, production and other supply chain department team members
Update and maintain fertilizer costing information.
Update and maintain fertilizer vendor contact information.
Actively manage fertilizer contracts and subsequent allocations in JDE
Ensure a high degree of communication with Fertilizer Strategy Leads and Regional Inventory Specialists.
Ensures all purchasing and inventory inquiries are responded to in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner.
Monitor the resolution of pricing discrepancies.
Work with Fertilizer Inventory Specialists to manage the storage of inventory and materials
Be available as backup for other regions
All other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits:
In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $85,020-$97,180 annually. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.
