JOB TITLE: Sr. Java Developer
JOB LOCATION: Remote
WAGE RANGE*: 60 - 64/ hour

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of experience in Java development
Proficiency in Java (version 18 and above), Java-based frameworks and libraries, and Java-based build tools
Experience with RESTful API design and development, Microservices Development, and API security, authentication, and documentation tools
Knowledge of IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and message queue architecture and design patterns
Experience with Splunk Logging and monitoring, and migrating legacy applications to Java
Integration with vendor/3rd party applications and services, and knowledge of data migration and transformation techniques
Experience with unit testing frameworks, debugging techniques and tools, and test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD)
IT controls and security measures for Java applications, including HiTrust coding standards and vulnerability fixing
Knowledge of security frameworks and libraries, and SOC2 processes
Experience with pair programming, code reviews, and creating detailed system specifications and documentation
Ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of application data, and experience with IT controls and security measures
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, and knowledge of cloud-based services and architecture
Experience with SQL, Oracle DB, and database management
Experience with release management tools and platforms
Familiarity with Client Association processes and BlueCard claims processing
Business Knowledge:
2+ years of experience in the health insurance
Working knowledge of BlueCard claims processing, and detailed knowledge of ITS architectural structure and processes
Familiarity with Client Association processes
Required Work Experience:
5+ years related work experience, Professional experience with technical design and coding in the IT industry
Required Education:
Related Bachelor's degree or related work experience

Sr. JAVA Developers are responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions. Senior IT Developers are responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation and performance testing of purchased products. Senior IT Developers are responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application. Senior IT Developers lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team and play a key role in the BlueCard Modernization effort. As a Senior Java Developer, candidate will be responsible for the development, programming, and coding of Information Technology solutions, with a focus on migrating legacy processes. Along with development work, candidate will lead efforts, oversee work results, provide training, and serve as a technical resource for other Developers.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain large-scale Java applications, with a focus on cloud-based solutions Lead the migration of legacy processes to a Java based application for the BlueCard Modernization effort Participate in unit testing, release procedures, and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications Evaluate and performance test purchased products, ensuring IT controls and security measures are in place Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery Provide technical guidance and training to other developers Develop and maintain detailed system specifications and documentation Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of application data
