The New Jewish Home is seeking Per Diem Speech Language Pathologists to join our team!
Responsibilities:
- Provides Speech-Language and Swallowing screening and evaluation of residents referred by the physician.
- Provides therapeutic intervention for patients/residents with voice, speech, language, and swallowing disorders when indicated.
- Works with patients/residents and/or families concerning appropriate Speech-Language Pathology therapy discharge plans.
- Prepares written and oral reports including: evaluation, progress notes and discharge summaries.
- Participates in meetings and actively collaborates with patients/residents and member of the interdisciplinary team to achieve common goals.
- Maintain appropriate departmental records.
- Participates in the educational activities of the home.
- Assists in the upkeep of the work areas, equipment and supplies.
- Maintains standards of practice by keeping current with new developments in the field and applying them as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as required.
Qualified:
- Current NYS Speech Language Pathologist license
- Master's degree in related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a geriatric population is required; and
- Available to work in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan areas.
