Schedule:
Scheduled to work 12-hour shifts from 7am - 7pm every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Wednesday, which is a 2-week pattern of 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off. Only scheduled to work 15 days every month, but with built-in overtime pay!
Position Summary:
Manage shift employees to attain plant goals. Support training operators and assistant on the floor. You will report to the Cell Lead and will receive work direction from the Plant Manager onsite in our Maple Grove facility.
Position Responsibilities:
* You will maintain food safety and quality within the plant.
* You will provide direction, feedback, and support to shift crews for troubleshooting, schedule training, job set-up and coordinate and communicate all job changes with other departments and on-coming shift lead.
* You will understand and support of overall quality issues and goals.
* You will prepare and run required meetings, i.e. DDS, etc. understand the planned performance levels for the shift and lead overall shift performance though the implementation of continuous improvement processes and development of a zero-loss culture and reacts to non-routine and crisis situations.
* You will schedule staffing levels on the shift, to support the press schedule, develop press crew capability through training, coaching and performance feedback.
* You will maintain adherence to employee handbook, GMP's and other plant policies and procedures.
* You will coach team in personal accountability, safety and give and receive feedback by using CPS concepts and auditing of team members.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma or GED required.
* 2 years of operations experience
* 2 years of leadership experience
* Knowledge with and understanding of continuous improvement processes.
Skills required:
* Read/write English and excellent verbal and written/communication skills to provide work direction and manage 10-15 people.
* Work with all staff, including all levels of management.
* Perform arithmetic functions and trend analysis.
* Advanced computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Office products.
* Must be a team player and support management decisions.
