Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer (T05) on the Payloads Modeling, Simulation and Analysis team. This position is located in Roy, UT and supports the Sentinel program.
This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
• Develop Payload models to simulate and evaluate hardware performance
• Perform model validation of various Payloads through test and analysis
• Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for missile system payloads
• Breakdown complex problems into simpler steps, oversee junior engineer tasking
• Perform analysis to support derivation of lower level requirements
• Verify Payload specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
• Generate Threat Models
• Generate and analyze radar and optical signatures of payload objects
• Analyze exo and endo-atmospheric trajectories
• Generate discrimination algorithms
• Review test plans and support testing to ensure proper data objectives are met to validate models
• Create analysis documents, verification and validation(V&V) plans, and V&V reports
• Present analysis results to both internal and external stakeholders
• Interface with AF customer
• Interface with intelligence community
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline with 12 years of related experience; 10 years with a Masters; 8 years with a PhD.
• US Citizenship with an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
• 3+ years of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience
• 1+ years of experience with discrimination algorithm development for missile defense or radar purposes
• 1+ years of experience with Verification and Validation plan development and execution
• 1+ years of experience with being a technical leader on a team
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3+ years of countermeasure design and analysis experience
• 1+ years of optical and infrared analysis experience
• 1+ years of experience leading a small team or deriving and executing a schedule
• 5+ years of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience
• Experience developing Red Engineering models
• Experience with analytic models such as OSC, XPATCH, and Method of Moments codes

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $147,700 - $221,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
