9th Way Insignia has an opening for a Senior Test Engineer to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Professional Level Information

The Senior Test Engineer position aligns as an Engineer 2 level at 9th Way Insignia. This person understands the software development life cycle and can take on work without much direction. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. Have broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. Has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.

Functional Job (LCAT) Information

A Senior Test Engineer must have experience working with developers, end users and organizations to create test plans and test scripts. Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. experience in creating reports. Tracks problems and reports on errors that are identified. Must have experience with configuring necessary hardware and operating environments as needed to complete assigned testing. Must have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems and networks and specialized environments. Must have experience in writing or assisting in the development of test plans and test procedures. Must manage the defect database under the guidance of senior QA engineers.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop comprehensive test strategies for HBA solutions.

  • Create detailed test roadmaps, plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and technical requirements.

  • Coordinate with test sites and other team participants to plan test events. experience in creating reports.

  • Implement and manage automated and manual testing processes for HBA applications, focusing on tools like ForcePoint FBA, UAM and Corelight.

  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing on HBA systems and dependencies, including ForcePoint FBA, UAM and Corelight.

  • Train, mentor, and develop collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and interoperability of HBA solutions.

  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex HBA issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and logs from various HBA vendors.

  • Lead/participate in incident calls to provide support during performance degradation and system outages during and outside of business hours as needed.

  • Collect and develop metrics for development analysis to create improvement strategies.

Requirements:

  • 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.

  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

  • Expertise in HBA technologies and vendors such as ForcePoint FBA, UAM And Corelight.

  • Expertise in security protocols and standards related to HBA.

  • Strong knowledge of testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, JMeter, Postman, and SoapUI.

  • Experience with automated testing and CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Bamboo, or any proprietary developed testing tool.

  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps methodologies, including continuous integration and continuous deployment practices.

  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and test-driven development (TDD).

  • Experience in creating and executing comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.

  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex IAM issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and log analysis.

  • Experience guiding, mentoring, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, architects, and security professionals.

  • Proficiency in using documentation tools like SharePoint, and ServiceNow for maintaining test plans, test cases, and test results.

  • Ability to attend, troubleshoot, and support system outages when they occur.

Preferred:

  • CISSP, CEH, CIAM or related certification

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $77,096.24 - $102,500.00

9th Way Insignia’s range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Location
This position is remote.
