National Grid is hiring a Senior Technical Inspector for our Gas Work Methods and Standards department in Waltham, MA.

Job Purpose
To provide technical expertise from an inspection perspective. At the lower levels this will encompass a range of duties including inspection, testing, reporting and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. At the higher levels this role will also aid in the development of future inspection criteria, modifications to policies and cross train between Gas and Electric Material Inspections where applicable.
Key Accountabilities
- Conduct field operations work site inspections, including Maintenance and Constructionfield personnel inspections, and process audits and record reviewsin order to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
- Collect, sort, and analyze inspection and audit data in order to identify deficiencies and overall patterns which may impact the quality and safety of operations, and provide recommendations to improve them.
- Maintain and Document all results in relevant databases.
- Report findings and coordinate material disposition.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Strong interpersonal skills and have the ability to develop, maintain and manage relationships at all levels within the Company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in an engineering discipline (or a related technical discipline) is desired
- Minimum of 5 years field experience preferred in Gas Construction

Salary: $99,000 - $116,000
This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Internal candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.

As such, the Company's testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
