Job Purpose

To supervise the maintenance and construction of large commercial and industrial metering systems.

Key Accountabilities

Oversee the operational workload for a team of union workers, ensuring allocated staff are fully utilized to deliver against the agreed program of work.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate the work involved in the maintenance and construction of larger commercial and industrial metering systems.
Ensure supervised team of union workers comply with safety standards, policies and processes to ensure a safe working environment and minimize risk for all staff.
Promote and implement procedural best practice within the team to ensure all working practices are compliant with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage an expense budget which includes labor, material, transportation and other operating expenses.
Understand the work execution process and work coordination of a technician workforce for the construction, operation and maintenance of metering systems.
Monitor performance of allocated staff, including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standardsof work to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively
Responds to regular and off-hour emergency outages, taking necessary steps to safe guard customers and employees during restoration of our electrical system in a timely manner.
Exhibit knowledge of Meter & Test vehicles, tools, and equipment
Responsible for the supervision of 6 -12 union employees across multiple offices within a division

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

Excellent communication with a focus on active listening and presentation skills.
Experience with managing a team with the ability to build effective, respectful, working relationships.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electronic or Electrical engineering with 3+ years of experience in metering or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
Associate's degree in electronic or Electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience in metering or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
Minimum of 7+ years experience in relay protection and control systems, metering, or similar technical field, servicing customers and supervising employees
Valid driver's license

More Information

Salary: $100,000 - $142,000

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills.
