9th Way Insignia has an opening for a Senior Security Analyst to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Professional Level
The Senior Security Analyst position aligns as an Engineer 2 at 9th Way Insignia. An Engineer 2 typically plans and directs research or development work on complex projects, along with engaging various parties in design and development. Costs and recommendations of new components may also involve part of the job scope. Performs multiple engineering-related tasks in various assignments within the project and firm. Engineer 2 has broad knowledge of engineering procedures and assists in the resolution of complex problems. Engineer 2 has strong technical skills and background, a knack for learning new technologies, and a blend of good problem-solving and innovation needed to resolve a wide variety of technical production challenges.

A Senior Security Analyst has experience in managing teams of security analysts. A Senior Security Analyst effectively leverages vast detailed knowledge and familiarity with security discipline. Has thorough knowledge of security principles, concepts, policy and regulations. A Senior Security Analyst can identify risks in security systems and work with technical experts to resolve security issues. Possess ability to identify key concepts, factors and risks based on conversations and document these in clear and concise narrative or graphic reports.
Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed reports documenting security breaches and assess the extent of damage caused by these incidents.

Monitor network traffic to identify potential security breaches and promptly investigate any anomalies.

Install and configure security software tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and data encryption programs.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure robust security measures are in place.

Research and stay informed about the latest developments in information technology security.

Research and implement cutting-edge technologies to protect sensitive data and systems.

Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.

Create a comprehensive security plan that aligns with industry best practices.

Conduct regular simulated cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in computer systems.

Address and remediate any weaknesses before external threats exploit them.

Advise managers and senior executives on security advancements and risk mitigation strategies.

Assist colleagues in installing new software and educate them on security protocols.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, project management, or related field.

5+ years of proven experience. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to issue resolution.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of network protocols, security frameworks, and risk assessment methodologies.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $77,096.24 - $118,737.85
