Are you our next Sr Manager, IT Technical Services?
The Senior Manager, IT Technical Services is responsible for leading the strategic direction, development, and maintenance of the organization’s server infrastructure with a focus on Azure cloud services. Responsibilities will include developing and executing the strategic direction and management of the organization’s computing environment and ensuring that the IT infrastructure and end user computing aligns with the organization’s goals and objectives.
What will you do?
Strategy Development, Budgetary Responsibilities & Management Reporting: Work in collaboration with the Director, IT Technical Services to provide strategic leadership with an executable strategy around server management, database management, hybrid cloud environment, end user computing, and enterprise technology. Develop and implement budgets and forecasts relative to new and existing technologies and department travel and professional development with global alignment.
Technical Services Leadership: Manage and lead the IT technical services group. Manage the operational support and project delivery within the computing technical service environments, which include client/server computing, enterprise storage systems, cloud services, and databases. Ensure alignment and transparency of efforts through agile methodology adherence.
Professional Collaboration: Collaborate with key external providers and internal team members across various service areas, which will include professional services, co-location, change management, resource planning and performance monitoring of service agreements.
People Leadership: Provide mentoring and coaching to team members. Provide clear work direction to the team as well as timely and constructive feedback to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work. Provide feedback to leaders as part of the performance review and career development processes for indirect reports. Other job duties and projects as assigned.
What do you need for this role?
Associate's degree required, major in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related area
Bachelor's preferred, major in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related area
8+ years of progressively responsible IT experience.
5+ years of successfully leading a blended technical team.
Experience with planning, implementing, and managing an operating budget.
Experience with negotiating and evaluating complex service and/or operational level agreements.
Experience in managing diverse teams of internal and external IT resources within large enterprise environments
Experience managing external service providers including establishing, monitoring, and managing service levels
Ability to provide oversight across multiple initiatives or projects.
Background in chemical or mining industries Preferred
Agile Kanban management experience. Preferred
Strong verbal, written, listening and presentation communication skills
Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
Ability to translate technical value into organizational value across multiple levels and audiences.
