Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Fidelity Institutional (FI) Strategy & Planning will support several activities to help drive forward Fidelity's FI business unit. As a key contributor, this individual will be a multi-faceted contributor to the organization, helping to develop FI's strategic plan, facilitating the execution of key initiatives to drive the business forward, ensuring alignment among internal and external partners, and ensuring clear and consistent messaging of our business strategy and accomplishments.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
- 3-5+ years management consulting, strategic planning, or management experience
- Strong strategy consulting abilities: Critical thinking, structured problem solving, sophisticated research and analysis, and ability to drive to business insights
- Experience contributing to an organization's top strategic projects
- Executive presence to work with senior leaders across an organization
- Deep curiosity about the intermediary and institutional investment markets
- Ability to balance multiple workstreams and maintain an agile mentality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
- MBA, CFA or other relevant advanced degree preferred, but not required
The Team
Fidelity Institutional serves a wide variety of institutional investors, wealth management firms, and retirement plans with access to Fidelity's proprietary investment management, trading, and financing solutions. Sitting within the FI Finance organization, the Strategy & Planning team is responsible for defining, communicating, and executing on FI's business unit strategy and priorities. FI Strategy & Planning interacts frequently with leaders across the business, including the Head of Fidelity Institutional, the Head of Finance, and other members of the Senior Leadership Team.
The Value You Deliver
The Senior Manager, FI Strategy & Planning will report to the VP of Strategy & Planning for FI; specific responsibilities to include:
Completing Strategic Projects (~60%)
- Act as key member of project teams working on behalf of FI's Senior Leadership Team to identify and assess strategic, competitive, and operational improvement opportunities for the FI business
- Drive business case development and other strategic analyses through collaboration with key partners to advise recommendations
- Manage workstreams to drive project delivery and execution; examples include new opportunity assessment, organizational transformation, regulatory response, and pricing strategy
Facilitating Multi-Year Planning (~30%)
- Contribute to the development of FI's Multi-Year Plan through analysis of industry/competitive trends, articulation of overarching FI vision, identification of areas for investment and business focus, and development of business goals
- Participate in FI's objective-setting and scorecard processes, ensuring the linkage of FI's business strategy to objectives & critical metrics at all levels of the organization
- Ensure alignment with Enterprise-wide planning processes and priorities
- Support executive-level presentations and reviews of FI's business strategy and results, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), All Hands Meetings, and Fidelity Board meetings
Team Contribution (~10%)
- Contribute to overall team culture and environment
- Support agile practices within the team

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs.
