The Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory will prepare and analyze monthly inventory accounting, reporting, and other related activities for the North America Phosphates Business Unit. This includes analysis and journal entry preparation of all of Mosaic’s North America Phosphates fertilizer inventory activity, including costing and associated cost of goods sold, with emphasis on both balance sheet and income statement activity and analysis. The Senior Financial Analyst, Inventory will also partner with the EBS Inventory and Plant Finance COE teams to ensure proper valuation of Phosphates inventory and will provide timely analysis to key business partners in this regard. They will be responsible for the calculation and analysis of various Profit-In-Inventory (PII) measurements to ensure that necessary eliminations are properly captured. They will also be responsible for leading the coordination of various Inventory SOX controls for the North America Phosphates Business Unit and will act as the primary contact with both internal and external auditors on North America Phosphates audit requests and analysis. Other specific analytical responsibilities will include Inventory Balance Sheet Fluctuation Analysis for North Ameria, identification, and analysis of cost of goods sold for the North America Phosphates Business Unit, and other supplemental analytics as directed by leadership and other key business partners. They will also create, manage, and drive special projects for process improvements and changes in technical accounting requirements.

Lead the coordination of various Inventory SOX controls for the North America Phosphates Business Unit and act as the primary contact with both internal and external auditors on North America Phosphates Inventory audit requests and analysis.
Partner with the EBS Inventory and Plant Finance COE teams to ensure proper valuation of North America Phosphates inventory and provide timely analysis to key business partners.
Create, manage, and drive special projects for process improvements and changes in technical accounting requirements.
What do you need for this role?
Bachelor's Degree required, major in Accounting, Finance or Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
5+ years of accounting or finance experience
CPA and/or MBA preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting
Knowledge of auditing/Sarbanes Oxley standards
Understanding of sales accounting and inventory accounting
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel is required), Microsoft Access knowledge preferred
ERP system experience/knowledge required
SAP knowledge is preferred
