The mission of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The Sr. Financial Analyst will work very closely with the Executive Director of Finance on the long-range plan, the annual budget and the monthly forecast processes for all USAHS locations. In addition, this position will provide various levels of financial analysis to support the university's decision-making process. The Sr. Financial Analyst will also be responsible for fulfilling various financial reporting requirements for accreditors and other stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the month-end close process by researching variances to forecast, budget and prior year
Prepare the monthly forecast in partnership with the Executive Director of Finance and the Finance Manager
Prepare the annual budget and long-range plan in partnership with the Executive Director of Finance and the Finance Manager
Assist in the preparation of a monthly reporting package for management that analyzes year-to-date results and the latest full year forecast
Communicate financial results to operations personnel and other levels of management in a clear manner
Provide guidance and support to department leaders as they manage their individual budgets throughout the year and prepare for the next year's budget
Support the decision-making process for investment options by providing clear analysis of potential impacts to the business
Fulfill various financial reporting requirements for accreditors and other stakeholders
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS in Accounting, Finance or related field required
MBA or CPA preferred
Minimum of 7 years of Finance/Accounting experience required with at least 5 years of dedicated Financial Analysis experience
Experience in the for-profit education industry or another highly regulated industry is a plus
Very strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required
Experience building financial models is essential
Experience with financial planning software and a general ledger system is required (Hyperion Planning system 9, Hyperion Essbase, and/or PeopleSoft experience is a plus)
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Must be self-motivated, a team player, and have the ability to work well with all levels of professionals
Must be able to work effectively in a matrix organization
Must be able to organize and work on multiple projects with competing deadlines
Must be able to think analytically and provide solutions to complex issues with little guidance
Professional appearance and demeanor is required to serve as an effective representative of the University at all times
TRAVEL
Position may require local driving and/or overnight travel to other campuses.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions as necessary.
