About the Location
Hybrid Position:
This position may be considered Hybrid based on PetSmart’s FlexSmart policy and business needs. A Hybrid work arrangement is considered to be a blend of onsite and remote work activity. Associates with a Hybrid work arrangement have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can be required to come onsite between 1-5 days a week as determined by leadership and based on business needs.

Scrum Master
Job Summary/Purpose
This job is responsible for leading technical projects with agile project and product teams. The role will be accountable for working with cross-functional teams to implement and deliver solutions aligned with strategies and plans for technology, across customer and business facing product and platform teams. The job is accountable for ensuring organized, predictable, and managed change.
Major Responsibilities
Informal leadership:
• Guides teams on long term projects or continuous improvement work.
• Demonstrates a servant leadership style.
• Coaches teams of associate and contract Analysts, QA, and Engineering team members on agile values and principles.
• Serves as a facilitator and guide to help teams become self-organized and implement agile frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.
• Seeks diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation.
• Develops effective relationships within Technology and with stakeholders.
• Adapts to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines.
Project and Product Delivery:
• Participates in early forecast activities to estimate staffing and effort to scope initiatives for complex technology projects.
• Plan, participate, and lead project leadership team or steering leadership team meetings.
• Anticipate risks, perform contingency planning, and resolve roadblocks.
• Accountable for delivery of highly complex, cross-functional projects impacting the enterprise.
• Facilitates and is accountable for agile team ceremonies such as: team daily standup, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demo, team retrospective, etc.
• Helps team remove obstacles to delivery and promotes continuous improvement throughout the development lifecycle.
• Responsible for measuring the agile team’s performance using various agile metrics and tools such as: sprint burndown chart, control chart, cycle time reports, cumulative flow diagrams, and Say-Do metrics.
• Accountable for scope, schedule, and communication management.
• Provides leadership and direction during the design, development, support, and implementation of business capabilities as it relates to application and technical delivery.
• Guides sustainable solutions, meeting both immediate project requirements and near-term strategies, as appropriate.
Participate in the development and sustainability of project management and scrum master frameworks.
Project financial oversight:
• Knowledgeable about IT capital and expense budgeting/spend processes, leveraging SAP preferred.
• Manages day-to-day budget; implements contracts/SOWs, coordinates expenditures and partners to analyze variances
Education/Certs/Licenses/Tech Skills
• Bachelor's Degree required, in Computer Science or related field preferred, and 5+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Agile Project Management Certifications with demonstratable application desired
• Proficient in project management discipline and tools
