Saw Operator - 1st shift

Regular Full-Time  

For 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our community. We are seeking a Saw Operator to join our team.

At RLWS, the Saw Operator performs all operations of CNC cutoff saws within product quality, efficiency and safety standards. When finished with each job the Saw Operator is responsible for cleaning up all tooling, machinery, and work areas. Ensures high quality work and safe working practices. Other job duties include:

Essential Job Functions:

  • Use of basic measuring equipment such as calipers, steel rules, etc. Verifies position of metal components in assembly, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
  • Applies a basic understanding of blueprints and tolerances that relate to assigned tasks.
  • Moves materials with forklift.
  • Work in a manner in which quality of work and safety while performing work are top priorities.
  • Keeps work area organized and as clean as possible while working and clean up all tooling, machinery and work area when finished with each job. 
  • Notifies direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of time and quantities, etc. If you know of incorrect time or quantity in folder, notify supervisor so it can be corrected.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • Some experience setting-up and operation of CNC cutoff saws preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Good measuring equipment including calipers, tape measure, steel rule, squares, and other measuring equipment skills. 
  • Skilled in the use and care of tools and equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Good communications skills.
  • Good forklift skills.
  • Good basic hand tools skills.
  • Good blueprint reading skills.
