The AZEK Company’s intern/co-op program will provide you with hands-on experience in chemical, mechanical design, and quality management systems, as well as exposure to the fascinating world of sustainable outdoor building products.
This is a paid internship where you will report directly to the Sr. Manger of Quality. Throughout your time with The AZEK Company, you can expect to participate in meaningful project work and professional learning opportunities that will help you grow as a Mechanical, Chemical and/or Quality Engineering professional.
During your time with AZEK, you will also get exposure to, and an opportunity to network with, other interns, AZEK employees, and company executives.

Time Commitment & Expectations:
- AZEK’s summer Intern program runs from May 19th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025. Participants must be available for at least 11 out of the 12 weeks.
- Program runs for 40 hours/week, with the exception of the week of Memorial Day & Independence Day (unpaid holidays)
- Participants must be available for two in person events
- Wilmington, OH week of June 2nd
- Chicago, IL the week of July 21st or 28th
- Weekly Lunch & learns 45-90 minutes

Position Summary: Assist the plant engineering teams in development of process reliability and sustainability through knowledge in mechanical/chemical engineering. Specific project for this summer includes P&ID development and roll out as well as 3D modeling of legacy tooling/dies that requires fast turnaround builds.

What you’ll learn:
- How you can use your knowledge in solid modeling and CAD to increase equipment reliability.
- By being on the teams, will learn about the sustainability of PVC and how the AZEK Company utilizes the country’s recycle streams to make products that last.
- Knowledge of foamed PVC profile tooling design and methodology and experience troubleshooting, tuning, and setting up these tools in a manufacturing setting.
- Tools and methods utilized in a production environment to manage quality assurance.
- Implement administrative and hard controls and methods to ensure conformance and compliance to established quality standards.
- Use Quality Tools such as SQC, SPC, MSA and CPM/CTQ to analyze and control product iaw established standards and specifications.
- Use KPIs to drive continuous improvement efforts.
Ideal Student:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student studying Plastics, Mechanical, Chemical, Engineering Management or Materials Engineering at an accredited college or university.
- High academic standing (Preferred GPA – 3.0+)
- Successful completion of a minimum of 60 credit hours
- Able to participate in at least 90% of the program May – August
- Willing to relocate to a geographic location with an AZEK facility, if needed, upon graduation.
Students must be eligible to work in the U.S. without immigration sponsorship.
