WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Prospect Research Analyst will work at the intersection of the art and science of fundraising as part of a functional team within Global Prospect Development reporting to the Associate Director, Prospect Research. The team is responsible for implementing a full array of prospect research strategies across a matrix of fundraising clients responsible for cultivating the Conservancy's largest and most strategic donors.

The Prospect Research Analyst will work toward meeting the strategic priorities of the team by developing and implementing tactics in all areas related to prospect research to inform donor strategies and create a robust donor pipeline. Prioritizing new prospect identification and exhibiting information management and fundraising knowledge, they will evaluate and prioritize donor pools, identify indicators of wealth and capacity, perform sphere of influence analysis, assess affinity and map donor interests to Conservancy priorities. They will present biographical research and recommendations effectively using a variety of solutions, tools, and data documented and tracked within our fundraising database. They will distill and convey complex information in a targeted and compelling way for Development leadership and other Conservancy Executives.

The Analyst will have substantial contact with stakeholders and work as consultants and thought partners to development operations staff and fundraisers across the organization. They will have and maintain an advanced knowledge of the systems, resources, and procedures utilized by the team especially as it pertains to ethical performance of the job and handling of confidential and sensitive information. They may take on additional duties to enhance the work of the team, which may include, but are not limited to, a more significant role in training, developing documentation, and/or enhancing the systems and tools used by the team. The Analyst will keep up to date on news and trends in wealth, philanthropy, conservation, and best practices in prospect development to improve team offerings and approaches.

The Global Prospect Development Team is a fully remote team; we're seeking someone who thrives working across teams in a remote environment. Overnight travel is required several times per year to attend trainings, meetings and team retreats. WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in principles and practices of prospect research and prospect management.
  • Experience with current resources and technology in prospect research.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting data; preparing donor briefings; and generating reports
  • Experience working across departments and with cross functional teams.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience are appreciated.
  • Knowledge of current trends in prospect research.
  • Experience researching principal gift-level prospects and conducting wealth analysis, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • Experience, coursework, or other training in fundraising principles and practices.
  • Excellent writing and organization skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience coordinating projects.
  • Experience with database management.
  • Demonstrated experience using diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships.
  • Ability to work with others in a collaborative or advisory role.
  • Ability to work entrepreneurially where change is the norm and rapid decision making is required.
  • Ability to implement complex processes.
  • Ability to use existing technology to achieve desired results.
  • Experience interpreting guidelines to achieve desired results.
  • Successful experience implementing strategic program goals.

ADDITIONAL JOB INFORMATION

Travel and work overtime as needed.
Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.

SALARY INFORMATION

The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $64,200-$94,700 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate's actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
