Position Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a Procurement Supervisor who will beresponsible for the purchasing activity in the Wayne, NJ plant, overseeing relationships with group purchasing, local vendors and also overseeing the procurement of equipment, capital expenditures, and other purchases required to support the plant.
You must be able to work cross-functionally with teams of individuals from other business functions (Operations, Process Engineering, Maintenance, etc.) to assist in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives and work with and support cross-functional teams to resolve vendor quantity and quality issue as well as maintaining a supplier matrix and conduct regular evaluations of suppliers and implement corrective actions as necessary
You will supervise all buying functions performed by buyers and other employees assisting in the buying function. Provide training and direction to all persons performing the buying function to meet company objectives and comply with all internal policies and other regulations.
This role will also focus on analytics, building procurement strategies, and cost savings projects. As the Procurement Supervisor, you will be responsible for departmental performance measures including visual controls and dashboards and provide regular progress reports to the Supply Chain Manager. This role will ensure effective employee relations, to include all aspects of performance management, investigations, and problem resolution.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors' Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management
- 2+ years experience in supervising and developing of team members
- 5+ years experience in working in a Purchasing and/or Supply Chain role (preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Very strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Problem solving and Analytical skills and strong negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (speaking and writing)
- Ability to maintain professionalism and composure while effectively managing multiple and competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APICS Certified (CPIM or CSCP)
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
