Principal R&D Engineer (Sustaining)Job Description
As a Principal Sustaining Engineer you will support product development programs aimed at treating vascular diseases with commercially launched devices.
Your role:
- Executing research and development activities from the concept stage of product development through Commercialization. In addition to project-related activities, you will also assist in the development of the Philips IGTD QMS design controls process.
- Supporting detailed design and testing of commercialized products, ensuring that product designs meet specifications, and identifying and recommending solutions for complex technical issues.
- Conducting product idea development, prototyping, product specification development, test method development, test protocol and report writing.
You're the right fit if:
You’ve acquired a minimum of 10 years of experience in Sustaining Engineering and/or R&D Engineering
- Your skills include strong knowledge and experience with design control, statistical analysis, and technical writing skills.
- You’ve supported single use devices that integrate into electrical medical equipment.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (Master’s degree - a plus).
- You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
- You’re an excellent communicator, have strong documentation skills, have proven leadership experience and have a coaching/mentorship mindset.

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in (Plymouth, MN) is $122,00.00 to $209,000.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
