As a Principal Associate, Risk & Process Management, you will be responsible for working with business partners to identify and consult on potential risks to Capital One and applying your risk/process management and analytical skills to drive well-managed risk activities. We are seeking a dedicated, disciplined, process professional who excels in a team environment. This individual will have demonstrated that they have improved processes in the past with measured results. This individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment are essential to succeeding in this role. Additionally, building win-win partnerships with multiple business stakeholders as well as across ESM, while adapting to and managing change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are essentials for this role.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate effectively with 1st line partners, 2nd lines of defense (Compliance, Legal, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management) and 3rd line of defense (Audit)
Proactively analyze risk trends, identifying signs of changing risk levels and areas of emerging risk for ESM including reporting on risk topics to management
Support annual Process Level Assessments (PLAs) and annual/off-cycle Process Criticality Assessments (PCAs); discuss risk profiles with ESM stakeholders to ensure these assessments reflect the current business processes and practices
Manage oversight of the ESM control suite and serve as main contact for Business Controls Testing, SOC 2 Testing, and ad hoc control QA
Serve as Issue Manager for ESM owned Issues and project manager for remediation activities • Maintain ESM's Business Continuity Plan as Plan Manager
Lead other risk projects, as needed
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
At least 3 years of experience with Process Management or Project Management
At least 3 years of experience working in a Risk Management fiel
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or military experience
4+ years of experience in process management
3+ years of experience with Business Process Management (BPM), Six Sigma or Lean process improvement techniques
4+ years of experience working in Risk Management
3+ years of experience in Third Party Management
Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance software tools (Fuse at Capital One)
Experience in controls development, controls management, and reporting activities
