JOB SUMMARY
Phlebotomy Training Program Student
Shift - Day Monday-Friday 3 Weeks Virtual classroom Training and 3 Weeks Clinical on-site
The Baylor Scott and White Health Phlebotomy training program is designed to be a gateway to bring quality phlebotomist into the BSWH system. Individuals who successfully complete this program will be offered the opportunity for full-time permanent employment, however employment is not guaranteed.
The program is 6 weeks in duration with an average of 35-40 hours of training and instructions per week. The course is broken down into two parts: virtual classroom instructions and on onsite clinical experience. You must have internet and computer access.
The Phlebotomist 1 collects and processes quality specimens in a safe manner as outlined in BSWH policies and procedures. Aids in the delivery of exceptional patient care.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Follows all established specimen collection, labeling, transportation, and handling procedures.
- Responsible for high customer satisfaction through professional and ethical conduct.
- Performs job responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Demonstrates engagement with achieving department goals and continuous improvement.
- Performs clerical duties.

- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
