This position is located in the Continuous Vetting (CV) Unit, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S Department of State (DoS), Rosslyn, VA. You will serve as a Personnel Security Specialist responsible for directing the conduct and certifying the sufficiency of initial pre-employment investigations and periodic update of reinvestigation of employees and special access program eligibility to determine suitability/security clearance eligibility.

Applicants applying for the GS-12 must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience applying statutes and authorities related to the personnel security field to administer personnel security programs.
- Experience implementing new or modified personnel security policies, standards, and criteria.
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and recommending solutions to complex, sensitive and controversial issues related to all personnel security programs.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-12 position.
