The Department of Public Works’ Recycling and Disposal Facility is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Office Assistant. This fully benefited position involves a variety of responsibilities, with a strong focus on bookkeeping and financial management. Key duties include:
- Serving as the Division’s primary customer service representative
- Weighing commercial vehicles
- Issuing permits
- Payroll
- Billing and collecting of accounts
- Preparing accounts payable invoices and managing related financial documentation
- Handling invoicing and payments, ensuring accurate record-keeping for all financial transactions
- Assisting in arranging the sale of recyclable materials
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly in maintaining accurate financial records. Strong bookkeeping experience is essential to ensure smooth billing, collections, and payments for all transactions. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Three years of office experience, with a focus on bookkeeping or accounting duties
- Computer literacy, including proficiency with spreadsheets and financial software
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Range of Pay: $26.83 - $33.44/hour, DOQ
