Resp & Qualifications
PURPOSE:
The incumbent will serve as the primary interface between the clinical and information systems teams, applying knowledge of nursing and informatics science to ensure the design, development, implementation and evaluation of information systems/technology solutions support clinical workflows in a healthcare setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Apply knowledge of nursing to conduct data analysis and review of clinical trends in order to develop strategies that resolve clinical or health care administrative objectives. Provide clinical insight and experience towards the achievement of strategic risk adjustment initiatives.
- Design, implement, and evaluate informatics solutions using analytic tools to track, analyze and interpret trends in data to support clinical decision-making, quality improvement and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations to leadership.
- Collaborate with IT, quality, and clinical leaders to ensure alignment of informatics goals and strategies.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in informatics and healthcare and provide training and support to clinical staff on the use of informatics systems and tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Health Informatics or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/or Compact State Licensure RN- Registered Nurse in MD, VA or Washington, DC Upon Hire Required
- RN-BC - Informatics Nurse Preferred
- CPHIMS - Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems Preferred
Experience: 5 years in nursing/clinical informatics, clinical analytics or health information technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MSN in Health Informatics

- Demonstrates expert analytical and population health analysis skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to translate clinical understanding to bridge the gap between clinical and technology outcomes.
- Knowledge and experience with system applications, data trending/graphics, and reporting tools.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively interact with all levels of employees.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $79,200 - $157,300
