WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Manage team of 8 to maintain optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliverables to meet customer requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
Establish, oversee, and continuously improves process and procedures to enable proper production control planning and scheduling to meet sales forecasts and to balance the level of labor and machine requirements. Investigate and follow-up deviations to the production schedule.
Work cross-functionally on material expedites, lead times, product launches, Demand Forecasts, and other countermeasures to favorably disposition excess and obsolete inventory.
Create, review and release internal manufacturing orders and/or external vendor purchase orders in a timely manner; expedite, cancel, defer as needed. Ensure prompt disposition of any non-conformances to minimize impact to the schedule.
Plan and publish an executable, frozen Five day Production Schedule that meets customer demand and stocking levels. Coordinate Raw Materials and components to support schedule.
Communicate lead times and respond to inquiries on customer orders and quotes. Ensure responses are communicated promptly and expertly.
Support cost management initiatives focused on reducing total cost of ownership.
Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure a resilient supply chain and high supplier performance, resolving issues and monitoring performance. Build partnerships with internal partners to ensure that all requirements are being met.
Lead negotiation of supply and service agreements that are in line with nVent business strategies
YOU HAVE:
5+ years of people management experience.
BS / BA Degree in Supply Chain, Product Supply, Manufacturing/Operations or related experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
3+ years of previous experience in Manufacturing.
Knowledge of MRP and material flow processes, knowledge of material planning systems and processes (MRP, Kanban).
