About This Role
Corporate Development contributes to establishing Biogen's corporate strategy and is responsible for the identification, assessment and negotiation of external opportunities to augment Biogen's pipeline and well as integration of acquired companies and management of relationships with Biogen's partners.
The Corporate Development Strategic Operations (CDSO) team is responsible for providing critical operational support to the Corporate Development organization and for optimizing how the department operates through process improvements and development and implementations of tools to enable efficient ways of working.
This role exposes the individual to multiple aspects of the Corporate Development continuum and to collaboration colleagues across Corporate Development, including Corporate Strategy and Integration, External Innovation, Business Development and Alliance Management. You will be accountable for supporting operations for multiple functions within Corporate Development and contribute to development, standardization and improvement of processes. You will be responsible for day-today operations and participate in strategic initiatives to improve efficiencies and ways of working. You will receive strong support from you manager but be expected to operate independently for some activities. You will operate with entrepreneurial spirit and urgency to positively influence Corporate Development's ability to deliver on goals to support Biogen's strategy and business development activities.
This role is Hybrid-Cambridge only.
What You'll Do
- Corporate Development Operations: Support coordination of Corporate Development internal and external meetings (e.g., townhalls, lunch& learn sessions, workshops, integration meetings, partnership joint committee meetings, conferences).
- Governance Operations: Support coordination of EC level governance meetings and governance communications. Manage governance agenda, documentation, and decision tracking.
- Financial Operations: support contract processing and tracking for functions within Corporate Development.
- Tracking & Reporting: Maintain tracking systems for external opportunities and partnerships. Enter data and produce business reports. Create simple trackers (e.g., agenda trackers, partnership milestones).
- Resource Management: Manage medium risk Corporate Development resources (e.g., SharePoint sites, data clean rooms).
- Process development & improvement: Support aspects of implementation of process improvements. Propose tools and best practices to improve ways of working.
- Project and Process Management: provide logistical planning to strategic initiatives of medium risk (e.g., aspects of integration or separation projects).

Qualifications
Required Skills
- University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in business operations and processes in the Life Sciences, Research, Development, Business Development, or Commercial fields.
- Adjacent experience in project management is strongly considered.
- Track-record of strong individual contributor experience in a matrixed organization.
- Knowledge of business operations and processes
- Experience in developing and managing simple tracking tools
- Basic understanding of business processes, policies and regulations
- Understanding of project management
- Basic understanding of drug development processes
- Ability to communicate technical information related to processes and operations clearly, accurately, and concisely
- Ability to support problem solving process
