Based on our internal equity review process, the starting hourly wage for this position will be $25.51.
The full-salary range for this position is $25.51 - $31.74 per hour.
The Parks Tacoma’s Community and Neighborhood Parks Maintenance and Operations team is currently hiring for several positions. This team is built from motivated professionals guided by caring and dedicated leadership. The campus contains fifty plus Neighborhood, Community, and Signature parks spread across the city of Tacoma. Currently the team is seeking a:
A laborer position to be responsible for the solid waste collection. The incumbent will be responsible to operate a large (non-CDL required) refuse truck to provide daily solid waste removal. The five 8-hour shifts would be consistently early (4AM) and may cover one day on the weekend in the peak season. Our team and park patrons rely heavily on this piece of our operations, so it is one of the most important functions of our team.
- General laborers to support the grounds, facilities, and assets. These positions offer a unique variety of tasks and lend an opportunity to hone and expand your knowledge and skills. Our teams are divided by territory and are made up of a nice blend of job positions and responsibilities to balance the workload. While routine maintenance is priority to us, there are several opportunities throughout the seasons to team up and perform major projects. The work occurs in the outside environment and shift schedules are mostly very consistent. Our staff finds motivation and are inspired from the instant gratification that comes from performing top notch landscaping, park and facility maintenance for the citizens of Tacoma and neighboring cities to enjoy. This team really desires a well-rounded Laborer with the attitude and aptitude to perform all of the tasks in the job description at a high level.

Position Information
Under the direction of an assigned maintenance lead or supervisor, perform a variety of assigned duties within facility maintenance and/or park maintenance. This position may also provide work direction to seasonal staff and volunteers.
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to:
