Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Machinist Technician to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility.
Qualifications: High school plus 1year experience is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Duties and Tasks:
- Basic material knowledge
- May operate light-duty bench or floor machine tools and equipment
- Works from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which
may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions - Sets up machines and makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machines
- Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances
- Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control
procedures - Interfaces with employees and managers within the department
- Works under supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions
given for new activities or special assignments
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and follow instructions including Engineering and CAD drawings
- Basic interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others
- Basic communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic computer skills
- Basic organizational skills
- Able to use mechanical hand and simple power tools
