Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Machinist Technician to work from their Scottsdale, AZ facility.

Qualifications: High school plus 1year experience is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Duties and Tasks:

Basic material knowledge
May operate light-duty bench or floor machine tools and equipment
Works from basic drawings, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which
may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions
Sets up machines and makes adjustments, and performs maintenance on machines
Checks work using prescribed gauges, jigs and fixtures to measure close tolerances
Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical process or other control
procedures
Interfaces with employees and managers within the department
Works under supervision and instructions given for routine work, and detailed instructions
given for new activities or special assignments

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read and follow instructions including Engineering and CAD drawings
Basic interpersonal skills to cooperate and work effectively with others
Basic communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic computer skills
Basic organizational skills
Able to use mechanical hand and simple power tools
