This is an hourly union represented position.

Starting wage: $25.13

Position Summary:

Machinist will setup, operate and trouble shoot various types of machines and equipment used in producing parts and components.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate various manual and N/C machines
  • Complex setups and close tolerances according to blueprint
  • Layout and setup of equipment
  • Train others on various machines
  • Use of various measuring devices and fixturing
  • Manage tool inventory; Set, adjust and maintain tools; and modify/develop new programs
  • Tack weld as needed to maintain alignments
  • Operate forklift or jib crane as needed to support material placement

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years’ machining experience
  • Experience with all types of tooling
  • Must be able to read complex blueprints
  • Strong math skills
  • Must be willing and able to work any shift

Preferred:

  • Associate of Applied Science in Precision Machining Technology
  • Knowledge of Bullard, Titanium and Hilllyer Vertical Milling machining
  • Knowledge of how to operate turret punch press, contour burning machines or numerically controlled hydraulic bending machines
  • Machining certificate
  • 3+ years’ in a manufacturing environment

Functional Requirements:

  • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints/scales/third angle projections
  • Understand math functions including simple math, decimals and fractions
  • Ability to climb repeatedly and work from heights off ladders, platforms, and scaffolds
  • Repeated bending
  • Exposure to constant noise 90 DBA
  • Exposure to fumes/smoke from burning, paint vapors, and dust
  • Prolonged walking/standing
  • Heavy lifting 45+ lbs
  • Must be willing to work in tobacco-free environment
  • Must be able to understand, speak, and read English with sufficient proficiency to follow safety and other policies, trainings, and instructions
