Hybrid work arrangement for the Enterprise Technology department is defined as residing with a 180-mile radius of the Hubs and Corporate.

Responsibilities

Are you ready to take the lead in a Data Engineering role at State Farm? We're on a mission to modernize our systems, and we need a talented Lead Data Engineer like you to join our Enterprise Performance Management team.

As part of this exciting initiative, you'll have the opportunity to migrate to cutting-edge AWS Cloud technologies and leverage updated BI Tools. Your role will be essential in researching and implementing new solutions, building modernized applications that will drive our Enterprise Budgeting and Planning capabilities.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates bring the following technology skills:

  • 5 or more years of experience with data engineering in a professional setting
  • Advanced Python skills or other modern programming languages
  • Experience with developing solutions on AWS (Redshift, Lambda, Glue, S3,) or other cloud platforms
  • Experience with testing and security practices to maintain and create new applications
  • Experience with any opensource database such as PostgreSql, MySQL. Etc.
  • CI/CD background: (ex: Gitlab)
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g.: Terraform, Cloud Formation)
  • Track record of building and maintaining data pipelines for the development, implementation, execution, validation, monitoring, and improvement of data science solutions
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps on Azure Platform or other modernized analytical tools

Required Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to positively interact with business partners and internal team members
  • Ability to contribute towards and execute upon an iterative approach for solutions
  • Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to foster innovation, encourage diversity of thought, and incorporate new ideas
  • Experience with Agile and Product Management methodologies

Preferred skills:

  • Knowledge of Insurance or Financial Products is a plus
  • AWS Certification, a plus
