Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, analytical and financially savvy Technology Business Management Analyst to be a key member of our Technology and Business Management office. In this role, while working on the Apptio platform, you will play an instrumental role in implementing and enhancing our product cost model, show backs and chargebacks, optimizing budgeting and forecasting processes, driving tool adoption, and delivering actionable insights into our technology investments.
Key Responsibilities:
Apptio Platform Implementation and Optimization
Develop and maintain the Apptio platform for technology financial management, including modules for IT Planning and forecasting, Cost Transparency, leadership financial reviews, and product cost modeling.
Enhance and optimize the TBM model to align with changing requirements related to data, end users, and systems.
Import, transform, and rationalize data from systems of record such as Workday, Service Now, Targetprocess
Lead the adoption and optimization of Apptio across the organization, working closely with key stakeholders to drive value and ensure best practices.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Apptio, providing training and support to end-users to maximize the tool's value
Foundational Financial Management
Provide ongoing financial reporting and analysis, including variance analysis, cost optimization opportunities across labor, vendor and hosting cost types to provide leaders the ability to efficiently manage variance and plan spend.
Provide insights into technology investments through developing and enhancing unit cost economics models to drive Total Cost of Ownership.
Product Cost Transparency
Develop, implement and socialize a consistent and transparent view of cost across the organization.
Ensure product costs are fairly allocated by leveraging industry frameworks to enable insights into Total Cost of Ownership.
Empowering Effective Delivery
Define governance standards and processes to enable teams to more effectively plan and manage technology delivery.
Collaborate with IT Executives and Finance on IT Total Cost of Ownership, financial metrics, and cost transparency initiatives.
Work with Finance, Technology and Operations across various business units to implement governance framework.
Process Improvement:
Continuously improve IT and business financial processes through effective use of technology tooling.
Identify opportunities to automate processes and reduce manual efforts.
Collaborate with Finance, Technology, and Operation teams to improve data quality, integrity, and granularity within the Apptio model.
Leadership and Mentoring:
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience working with Apptio or other financial management platforms.
Critical Skills:
Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes, particularly in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling.
Proven ability to work with large datasets and strong experience in data analysis, modeling, and reporting.
Strong to expert level skills and experience in formulaic logic and data transformation in tools such as MS Excel or Access using if statements, VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, etc.
Strong skills in financial modeling, and financial systems integration.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to translate business requirements into effective system configurations and process enhancements.
Prior experience in IT Financial Management (ITFM), Technology Business Management (TBM), and cost transparency is highly preferred.
Additional/Desired Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to translate business requirements into effective system configurations and process enhancements.
Prior experience in IT Financial Management (ITFM), Technology Business Management (TBM), and cost transparency is highly preferred.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Technology or Business, or a related field; advanced degree.
TBM certifications are a plus.
The budgeted salary range for this position in the states of Connecticut and New York is $150,000.00 - 185,000.00
