Overview
NJM Insurance Group is accepting applications for our Summer 2025 Internship Program. We are looking for an analytical and inquisitive intern to join our I.T. Data Administration team.
Job Responsibilities:
Expand knowledge of data engineering and analysis and:
Analyze source repositories and create database queries to retrieve necessary information.
Build appropriate data objects to consistently extract, transform or load information across company ecosystem.
Construct concise and appealing visualizations to provide insights to end users.
Perform ad-hoc analysis on incoming business requests to and determine proper course of action.
Explore edge technologies (alternate software or new libraries) and present advantages to the team.
Participate in software as a service / integrated technology configurations and management:
Review and document existing external software providers while assisting efforts to further enhance business use cases.
Independently research or communicate with vendors to understand new features while spotlighting appropriate capabilities to internal staff.
Coordinate technical discussions between internal and external resources to open or resolve company requests.
Prototype new technologies or additional use cases of existing SAS offerings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Currently Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT or equivalent
Demonstrate knowledge in one or more informational / analytical programming languages such as SQL or Python.
Demonstrate knowledge in one or more database technologies such as MS SQL Server, Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Databricks, Redshift, Snowflake.
Demonstrate knowledge in one of more analytical / reporting software packages such as Power-BI, Tableau, Qlik, Looker, DOMO
Demonstrate aptitude for data engineering / analytics
Learning – Ability to learn quickly (functional and technical aptitudes) and apply those learnings
Minimum of 3.0 GPA (3.5 or above is preferred)
