Michaels is looking for an Acquisitions Intern who is ready to apply their course-work to a real-world experience! The intern will assist the Acquisitions team with a wide-range of responsibilities during the program. The internship will appeal to proactive and self-motivated students with a genuine desire to learn about the institutional real estate business and industry. During the program, you will work on real projects and have real responsibilities. Michaels aims to help candidates build strengths, gain skills that can be transferred to any workplace, and stand out from the crowd!

Work Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday from 9 AM - 5 PM for a total of 35 hours
  • Based out of our Camden, NJ headquarters

Highlights of the Internship include:

  • Collaborate with other interns from various disciplines and universities.
  • Learn from seasoned professionals and leaders within the real estate sector.
  • Participate in company-wide and departmental meetings, social events, and professional networking opportunities.
  • Gain exposure to other departments, including property management, construction, and acquisitions.
  • Develop valuable skills such as business acumen, quantitative analysis, and presentation abilities.
  • Work closely with senior leadership within the Acquisitions team, gaining unique insights and experience.

Responsibilities

Responsibilites:

  • Support the Acquisitions team by maintaining pipeline management software.
  • Prepare underwriting Excel models and analyze source documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of debt and equity offering presentations.
  • Conduct thorough market research to inform decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing degree in Real Estate Development, Finance, Economics or Urban Planning
  • Ability to work a minimum of 35 hours per week during the school year
