The ideal candidate for the Human Resources Manager/ Staff Accountant position will have experience in the Human Resource function with a high focus on recruitment and accounting. The position responsibilities include coordinating and managing the hotel's recruitment and selection process, hiring and onboarding, job fairs, new hire paperwork, and serving as a valuable brand ambassador. In this role, the ideal candidate will also perform accounting-related duties and work closely with the director of finance, or assistant director of finance, as well as the accounting team, to achieve organizational goals. Additional responsibilities and projects will be assigned as needed.

Position Responsibilities/ Essential Functions

Accounting Function:

· Responsible to track all accounts payable processing, review and approve the weekly payment registers.

· Collect and review every vendor statement to ensure accuracy.

· Daily credit card bank reconciliation.

· Assist with month end close, monthly accruals and general ledger reconciliations

· Assist with financial statement preparation, monthly balance sheet reconciliation, daily revenue and cash reconciliations and other related finance projects.

· Review of daily revenue and labor reports & distribute to management.

· Weekly accounts payable invoice, payment processing and review.

Human Resources Function:

· Execute all aspects of recruitment; assist new applicants, screen and interview candidates, administer appropriate assessments and reference/background checks, make recommendations for hire (or not hire) and deliver employment offers.

· Manage candidate activity in Taleo (applicant tracking system) according to company policy.

· Manage the new hire paperwork forms its completion, including I-9, and WOTC surveys.

· Coordinate onboarding process

· Attend and coordinate candidate career resources such as career fairs to identify and attract quality candidates.

· Develop advertising initiatives (internal and external) to ensure high visibility with potential candidates through Taleo and other mediums.

· Facilitate internal and external transfer/promotion process.

· Act as a single point of contact for managers regarding recruitment, transfers, and promotions.

· Manage relationship with third party recruitment vendors

· Responsible for metrics and implementation of our corporate hiring initiatives, including RiseHY.

· Assist with colleague communications, engagement and retention initiatives

· Other projects and duties as required/assigned.

Qualifications

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

· High proficiency with the use of MS Office applications and familiar with internet page browsing and conducting a complete internet research.

· Must maintain strict adherence to high confidentiality requirements

· Must be able to multi-task

· Refined verbal and written communication skills

· Exceptional work ethic

· Able to work weekends and holidays as required to meet deadlines.

· Able to work flexible hours and extended shifts as required and to meet deadlines.

· Ability to work with mathematical concepts.

· Strong interpersonal, problem solving and planning skills.

· Able to carry out tasks independently and accurately.

· Ability to manage time and energies in an efficient, effective and organized manner.

· Ability to operate phones, calculator, computer equipment, copiers and printers.

Preferred

• An accredited Bachelor degree (Finance or HR degrees ideal but not required)

• One (1) year of experience in Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or Accounting

• MBA & CPA.

• Experience with accounting software and PMS software.

• Spanish written and verbal proficiency is a plus!
