If so, we are seeking a Global Customs Compliance Analyst who will assist the Global Customs Compliance Manager with establishing and maintaining the company’s import/export control infrastructure consisting of internal compliance reviews, monitoring import & export activities, parts classification, and providing support on international logistics related initiatives to ensure operational performance meets expected compliance levels.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assigns HTS for all import shipments and retains audit trail behind classification reasoning.
- Maintain classification parts database.
- Audit broker invoices and import entry packets for compliance with CBP regulations.
- Supports the maintenance of the CTPAT program and assists with the compilation of data needed for new factory setup and re-validation visits as needed.
- Assist in compiling, updating, and maintaining the company’s Import and Export compliance manuals.
- Work with Customers and Suppliers on properly completing and documenting Free Trade Agreements, USMCA Certificates, and Country of Origin Affidavits.
- Responds to inquiries from Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders and Internal Departments regarding documentation requirements in order to resolve shipment delays in a timely manner.
- Maintain recordkeeping of Customs entries and ensure recordkeeping requirements are met.
- Maintain and update detailed product information into our system.
- Work with brokers to resolve invoice and entry summary errors.
- Reviews and compiles data for annual customs reconciliation.
- Stays abreast of changes to Government Regulation updates and is able to effectively communicate potential impact to the organization.
- Other projects and/or duties as assigned by manager.
- Fulfill employee portion of the “Berlin Values”.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
- 1 – 3 years’ experience in Customs Compliance & international logistics required.
- The ability to collect, research and analyze information and to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner is required.
- Must be willing to learn all aspects of Import / Export Compliance, complete training courses, and attend seminars and conferences as needed.
