Full Job Description

Environmental Science Faculty Position, Waynesburg University—Full-time position, applications will be accepted until the position is filled, with teaching responsibilities beginning August 2024 or January 2025. Rank and tenure track status will be determined based upon the qualifications, skills and experience of the successful candidate. Doctoral degree preferred in a relevant field of study, such as Environmental Science, Botany, or Biology. ABD near completion will be considered. The successful candidate will teach twelve credit hours per semester in Botany, Intro to Environmental Science, Environmental Health & Toxicology, and other courses, most of which include lab components.  In addition, the candidate will assist with student recruitment and serves as an academic advisor and research mentor.  The University’s off-campus working farm with classroom and greenhouse facilities provides unique opportunities to develop research projects involving native vegetation, terrestrial and aquatic ecology, and old growth forests, as well as student internship opportunities related to land conservation, greenhouse maintenance, and community programming. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University’s Mission and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
