As an Environmental/Waste Management Desk Researcher, you will play a key role in analyzing waste infrastructure across various countries. Your research will inform critical decisions, shaping the company’s approach to sustainable waste management practices, particularly regarding organics recycling. This includes evaluating national and municipal waste strategies, focusing on landfill diversion, and exploring existing and planned organics recycling infrastructure. Your insights will directly contribute to the development of criteria for prioritizing countries for organics recycling programs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth desk research on waste infrastructure in select countries.
- Analyze national and major municipal waste strategies, with a focus on organics landfill diversion.
- Investigate existing and planned organics recycling infrastructure, emphasizing anaerobic digestion and incineration.
- Consider the role of hygiene products within the waste streams of these countries.
- Summarize research findings into comprehensive reports.
- Collaborate with the team to develop recommendations and criteria for prioritizing countries for organics recycling of hygiene products.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Proven research experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or ongoing studies in a related discipline (e.g., civil engineering, environmental engineering, materials engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry).
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $35-45 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
