Warehouse Electrical Instrumentation Automation Technician
Where will you work: On site at our Galveston facility (4500 Old Port Industrial Road | Galveston, TX 77554) Our EIA Technicians typically work rotating 10 hour shifts Monday-Thursday and Tuesday-Friday from 7AM – 5PM.
Are you skilled in electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and automation equipment maintenance? We are looking for an EIA Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, performing preventative maintenance, calibrating, and installing equipment throughout our plant or mine. This includes working with high, medium, and low voltage systems, AC and DC systems, lighting, motors, receptacles, starters, drives, power supply wiring, transformers, programmable controllers, and pneumatic and hydraulic systems. You will follow the National Electrical Code (NEC) and our company standards to ensure safety and efficiency. Additionally, you will read blueprints, schematics, and manuals, and adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE, LOTO, and confined space procedures. Your active participation in safety meetings and workflow feedback will be crucial. If you are detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards, we want to hear from you!
What you'll do:
Maintain and repair motors, starters, drives, voltage systems, and instrumentation.
Replace, repair, troubleshoot, calibrate, and clean electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.
Troubleshoot EIA systems.
Change hardware to maintain automation and operations interface.
Handle regular and emergency work orders.
Perform maintenance on flow, temperature, density, pressure, conductivity, and pH monitoring equipment.
Report any environmental or safety issues.
What you'll need:
High school diploma or GED
3+ years’ experience in Industrial Electrical or Instrumentation
Basic computer skills
Good organizational skills and ability to work alone or partner or team setting
Ability to accept and follow all safety procedures
Data entry capable
Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity and safely working at heights.
Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles.
Responsible for the safe and compliant storage/inspection/usage of tools and equipment as assigned.
Physical work environment is frequently outdoors and exposed to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bonus points if you have the following:
Associate degree in vocational, electrical, instrumentation, or automation
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming/software experience
