Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering department and drive technical excellence within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software development, continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD), and analytics. As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our software products, ensuring the use of best practices, and driving innovation through data analytics. You will work with executive management and have the opportunity to directly impact the success of the function in meeting NetApp's goals through strategic direction and technical leadership to the engineering team, aligning it with the overall company goals and objectives
Job Requirements
- Responsible for the implementation of CI/CD practices and ongoing development of integration infrastructure.
- Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines that allow for the accommodation of new tools and capabilities.
- Collaborate with the product management team to define technical requirements and ensure timely delivery of product roadmaps.
- Champion software engineering best practices, including code reviews, unit testing, and documentation, to maintain high standards of quality and maintainability.
- Develop and implement data analytics strategies to derive insights from customer usage, performance metrics, and other relevant data sources.
- Define and implement data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
- Utilize analytics insights to drive data-driven decision making, identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Evaluate and introduce new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance the engineering processes and improve productivity.
- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and technologies to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development, CI/CD, and analytics.
Requirements
- 12+ years of engineering experience including people manager experience is required.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master
- Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
- Extensive technical experience developing/delivering Cloud Services with hyperscaler platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies.
- Experience in implementing analytics solutions and utilizing data-driven insights for decision making.
- Experience and understanding of modern cloud technologies and best development practices.
- A proven track record with balancing multiple complex cross-functional projects and processes with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, especially presentation and negotiation skills.
- A deep understanding of technology, how function relates to other functions and the business as a whole
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $269,500 - $458,200. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
