We're inviting an enthusiastic and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team at Western Mass Periodontics on a temporary or permanent basis. This position offers the opportunity to work in two of our well-regarded locations in Great Barrington and Pittsfield, MA. Location Details:
- Tuesday Location: Western Mass Periodontics, 271 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230
- Wednesday - Friday Location: Western Mass Periodontics & Implant Specialists, 435 South Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201
- Highly Rated Practices: Both locations boast exceptional patient care with a strong focus on periodontal and implant treatments
- Modern Facilities: Equipped with state-of-the-art dental technology in welcoming and professional environments
Schedule:
- 4 days per week: Tuesday to Friday: 8AM - 4PM
- Tuesday: Great Barrington location
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: Pittsfield location
Your Role & Responsibilities:
- Welcome and seat patients cheerfully
- Prepare and set up treatment rooms for hygiene procedures
- Update patients' health history and provide oral hygiene education
- Perform scaling, root planing, and fluoride application
- Identify periodontal and restorative issues; facilitate dentist's treatment recommendations
- Conduct head, neck, and oral cancer exams
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive measures
- Schedule appropriate follow-up appointments
- Maintain a clean and organized dental lab
- Adhere to safety and OSHA guidelines as well as office standards
- Not responsible for capturing and interpreting x-rays
Requirements:
- Associate degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program
- MA state dental hygiene license
- CPR certification
- 1-year dental experience, preferred
- Certification in anesthesia, preferred
- Proficiency with scaling and root planing (SRP), preferred
