  • Status: Full-time, 40/hrs. week 

What You’ll Do:

The Controller will oversee financial and accounting activities of the organization and ensure compliance with regulations, managing financial reporting and providing strategic financial guidance to support the mission of the organization. This role plays a critical role in developing process-oriented solutions, enhancing internal controls, and fostering strong partnerships with organizational leaders to support the mission of the organization.


Duties include, but are not limited to: 

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger and financial statements.
  • Compliance & Internal Controls: Own and enhance the organization’s system of internal controls, ensuring adherence to all financial requirements, including GAAP, grants and other contractual requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Work closely with the CFO to develop and implement the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning.
  • Revenue Cycle Oversight: Monitor the revenue cycle, including billing, collections, and reimbursements, ensuring efficient processes that optimize cash flow.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to leadership for strategic decision-making, identifying areas of opportunity and risk.
  • Audit and Tax Coordination: Lead annual audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance and timely filing.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain industry best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with department leaders across the organization to understand operational needs, support financial decision-making, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor accounting and finance staff, promoting a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Will assist with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum seven years’ experience in accounting or finance, ideally with at least 3 years in a healthcare organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately produce financial statements and reports.
  • Preference given to previous experience as a Senior Auditor or higher at a public accounting firm and/or expertise in Sage accounting software.
  • Proven leadership and successful team management experience.

Preferred:

  • Bilingual/bi-cultural preferred. 
  • Prior experience in a Controller or similar role is highly desirable.

Total Rewards

The typical hiring range for this position is $115,500-$135,750 annually based on relevant years of experience.
